Tour Details
Still remembering 175 years since the station opened in September 1847. And 200 years of Steam Travel this year. We will meet for a power point presentation that will be given in the County Hotel, if it is your first visit to this hotel, come early to see the Royal Doulton tiled ceilings and passageway and two impressive fireplaces in what was a Billiards Room c1894. Following the presentation, we will walk across the road to the Railway Station to begin the walking tour. Looking for evidence of changes, listening to stories of interesting events and quiet heroes. We will be walking on the platforms, and in the undercroft. Wear warm, waterproof clothing to be comfortable. We will be using some steps and the lifts.
